Well Done John

Congratulations to John Kelly who was presented with a Laochra Gael award for his contribution to Cappawhite & Tipperary GAA. The awards were held in The Dome, Semple Stadium, last Sunday 25th November.

Dan on Film

Congrats to Dan Fitzgibbon on his part in the new film Nightshift. Great potential to be an Oscar winner, Dan, that is, not the film. Best of luck in future films Dan. A trailer of his film can be seen on IMDB.

Moorehaven Xmas Fayre

Award Nomination

The GAA Bord na nOg Chairman Owen Doody has been shortlisted for the 2018 Tipperary Sports Partnership ‘Volunteer in Sport’ Award. In association with Canon Hayes Recreation Centre’. Owen & the other nominees will be honoured at a Gala Event in GN Ballykisteen Hotel on Sat 8th Dec. Owen was also on the Community Council for many years and served as chairman of the Resource Centre Management Committee. Best of luck Owen - a deserving nominee

Cappwahite Youth Club

We are looking to re-open Cappawhite Youth Club. If you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering or has young people interested in attending please contact Paula Cleary (Rural Outreach Worker - Youth Work Ireland Tipperary) on 087-2860992. Training for volunteers is provided free of charge


Work on our playground has begun. It is situated beside the Resource Centre on part of the car park and part of land purchased from the GAA (for a nominal sum). Hopefully weather permitting it will be up and running before Christmas. Another amenity to further enhance Cappawhite and to provide a much needed play area for our younger members of the community and indeed caters for all age groups!

Cappawhite Parent and Toddler Group

Parents, grandparents or carers welcome with babies or toddlers every Wed morning 9.30am to 11.30am in Cappawhite National School. Come along for a cuppa and a chat. Charge is €2 per family

Senior Citizens Party

Will take place in Ballykisteen Hotel on Sunday the 2nd Dec at 12.30pm Senior Citizens €15 Family Members/Friends €25 No spot prizes required; committee thank you for generosity in past years. Please give names to Cecilia/Committee

Safety In the Home

Senior Alert monitoring Units for over 65 years. Emergency Response will install units free for the first year cost thereafter €65 annually; landline phone is needed (mobile phone will suffice if coverage is good; there is a small cost).

Scrap metal

Income for 2018 has been shared by Cappawhite Tidy towns and the local community employment scheme. Thanks to all who contributed items. (Please note the fridges & TV’s cannot be accepted). In 2019, the proceeds will go to Cappawhite day care.

Christmas Social Event

Cappawhite Community Council in association with the Day Care Centre invite you to a Christmas social event on Wed 19th December. Starting at 11am including, mass, nativity play by Cappawhite school children. Dinner, free gifts and spot prizes, music by Trudi Lalor and Fran Curry. Tickets on sale until 8th Dec in Centra Cappawhite. For further info contact Mary at 087-2059888.

1st Tuesday of the month is Movie Tuesday outing 
to the Excel Cinema Tipperary Town.
